Our Chef, Marita Kelly Swift, has basically run the show at Californos since January of 2003, impeccably upholding the four-star traditions of her own mother and Californos menu creator, Chef Brenda Burns.  Having worked her way through a bachelor’s degree in psychology and now finishing chef’s certification, Kelly grew up in the family business with it’s inception in 1988; each week she tackles some 500-1,000+ hungry stomaches by executing many creative and delightful meals and menus with expert flare.

Kelly is the loving wife of a local butcher and owner of two well-behaved boxer dogs.  She’s crazy about volcanos and other geological wonders, traveling, and new solutions to life’s problems. Kelly dabbles in mixology as well, creating such tasty drinks as the margarita sangria. 


Some favorite menus feature herb roasted beef tenderloin, pork chimichangas, new pizza combinations and of course, desserts.
